At Houghton Country we offer a large selection of ladies riding coats made from technical fabrics that are designed to be breathable and lightweight, ensuring you're comfortable in the saddle and your freedom of movement isn't compromised and feature riding vents in the back or side to allow a better fit while sat in the saddle.

When selecting a riding coat it is important to decide the length that is best for you there are three main lengths of riding coats; short, mid and long.

A short coat is the most common length as it is suitable for riding, yard duties, walking the dog and everything in between. Most riding short coats have a dipped hem to give extra coverage over the lower back a practical length especially useful for yard duties.

A mid-length coat bridges the gap between short and long and usually finishes around the mid-thigh on most riders, offering more coverage than a short coat without the added bulk of fabric around you legs of a long coat making it a great length for riders who are not just riding but are carrying water buckets and doing practical yard duties.

A long riding coat is a dream for many riders as not only does the coat cover your thigh in most designs down to your tall boots (some designs even go down to mid-calf when standing) it also covers your saddle protecting it from the weather. A great selection for riders who are out in all weather, for long hours hacking, schooling and at competitions waiting to go into a ring.

The majority of our range is designed for chilly or cold weather however there are lighter and lightweight versions of coats and jackets suitable for the warmer days of summer, spring and autumn.
